Reading

Reading at home...

Remember to continue to support your child with their activities below as well as reading for our Readathon competition this term.

(Week 10 - Term 1)

It is important for the children to understand the story they have read to you.
After a reading session with your child, ask her or him to:
*Tell you about what happened in the story
*Answer your questions about the story

As an activity on the side:

Ask your child to find words that begin with these blends:
*th
*st
*ch

Ask your child to find words that end with:
*ing
*ed
*es

Can your child work out words that rhyme from his or her story.  They know words that rhyme sound the same.

(Week 7 - Term 1)

Children bring home their book bags from Monday to Thursday.

Please read with your child then sign on their reading logs and return to school with them.

Encourage the children to bring their bookbags each day.

This week, Friday 16th of March, the children will leave their book bags and reading logs at school for me to check through the comments and act accordingly.  Your child can still read what ever books they have at home or they can have a break for the weekend.
